You win some, you lose some in Portal Kombat.

Thursday brought a sizeable win for the Providence Friars as freshman big man Oswin Erhunmwunse announced that he intends to return to the school for his sophomore year. With virtually every college player in the country considering whether to enter the transfer portal or not, securing the 6-10 center’s services for another year was a vital piece of the puzzle for Kim English.

“I’m coming back for year two and I can’t wait for what is to come,” Oswin posted on X.

Erhunmwunse, who is from Nigeria, has played competitive basketball for less than four years and is only scratching the surface of his potential. He averaged 6.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and blocked 52 shots in just 20 minutes of action per game. He and teammate Ryan Mela were both Big East All-Freshman picks and will certainly be key building blocks for next season’s Providence team.
